Veranstaltung
Dear friends of the Ideas of... discussion series,
after two inspiring events this year, we are excited to kick off the new year with the third session of our discussion series Ideas of Energy:
Energy and War and Peace with Helen Thompson, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Cambridge. Helen's latest book, Disorder: Hard Times in the 21st Century (Oxford University Press, 2022), explores the impact of energy on the international order. She is also the co-host of the UnHerd podcast These Times.
Together with Helen Thompson, we will examine the connections between energy and geopolitics. How does energy shape the international order? What do the current conflicts with Russia and in the Middle East mean for Germany's energy sovereignty and security? What geopolitical dynamics arise in the process of decarbonization? Together, we will discuss the political economy of energy in a turbulent world.
You are warmly invited to join us as we delve into these questions and gain yet another fascinating perspective on energy!
The event will be held in English.
Location: GPPi, Reinhardtstraße 7, 10117 Berlin
Time: Thursday, January 16, 2025, 7:00 to 8:30 pm (followed by a relaxed finale)
